Work-from-home jobs have become more common over the past year as companies look to cut costs. But what is the best work-from-home job? Here’s the answer to this question.

A good job is not just about what your employer pays you for doing. Some people think they’ll find a decent gig by simply checking Google or LinkedIn. But there are many other factors that take into consideration. For example, an employer needs to be able to provide for childcare and for their household. Someone also needs experience and skills in order to perform their duties well. When deciding which job is the best for you, factor in these factors too. 1) Administrative Assistant (AA)
Administrative assistants are usually responsible for managing tasks, helping others navigate complicated systems, and keeping up with daily life. The roles can often involve working in an office, in the field, or onsite. Most administrative assistants are salaried employees who earn between $40,000 to $100,000 annually. They can work full-time, part-time, or a few weeks a week in either location. An AA can make anywhere from $45,000 to upwards of $150,000 annually depending on the role. Many employers prefer candidates who work remotely, but some have requirements. You don’t need any prior experience or background to become an AAA and start making money. 2) Copywriter
Writing is a skill many employers require when hiring for new positions, so copywriting can have a career. As a copywriter, you can expect to work for clients and businesses in many different industries. To start as a copywriter, you should know how to write and speak English fluently. However, it’s not always easy to break into the writing industry and keep going, so most copywriters start out on one of two paths: becoming professional writers or freelancers. There are ways to go both directions without having to switch professions at all.

3) Web Designer
This type of job is one of the most popular among web developers and designers. These people create websites that appear to be made by someone else, so clients can easily tell the difference. Your role as a web developer is to set up things like the site layout, add information to the website such as blog posts, and optimize the load time on the site. In addition to building a page, a web designer will often create and maintain email campaigns to improve search engine rankings. To make things even more interesting, if you choose this path, you may also have to hire someone to design and build their social media platform. Working for a boutique agency means you can charge higher rates. While working as a web developer might seem like an extra step, it’s worth it.
4) Customer Support Specialist
This type of job is most commonly found in tech companies where people work from home and help customers solve issues. People who use Skype software will work as customer support specialists — answering questions and providing technical advice, resolving problems, and fixing minor glitches. And while maintaining chat lines is important, a CSM also has access to the company’s phone system and can offer remote assistance via phone calls, video conferencing, or other technology. If you’re lucky, your team will even come together once a day to discuss and brainstorm solutions for everyday problems. This job will vary by company, but you can expect to focus mainly on one-on-one conversations and support tickets.
5) Sales Consultant
As someone who works in sales, you’re probably familiar with being asked to introduce products and talk a bit about the company’s history. But did you know that you’re also likely to find yourself helping potential clients, pitching the product, and finding out everything from basic product features (of course, this doesn’t always mean you’ll do sales calls) to specialty products? That’s why a lot of people think sales consultants are just that — professionals who can help organizations sell their wares. Though this position requires a little training and experience, people who work as sales consultants usually get paid hourly between $50,000 and $80,000 per year. At first blush, sales consulting sounds great. However, it’s not much better than an accountant. So you might think: Why would anyone want to work for a sales consultant? It’s hard to explain. Basically, they have a unique perspective that the average person doesn’t.
If you think working for an organization sounds far-fetched, give Amazon a try. Their staff consists mostly of bookkeepers who write down figures on paper boards and sell those as gift cards — one of their most popular options is the Clickworker gadget. Because of their high demand and ability to accommodate virtually unlimited orders (the shipping rate is flat), Clickworker became very successful and grew quickly. Now, Amazon sells and uses Clickworkers as its main selling method. That alone makes Amazon a huge corporation that employs a lot of staff to work in various parts of the world. 6) Data Scientist/Analytics Engineer
Because data is growing in importance, there are even more and better ways to analyze data so it gives rise to a whole range of careers, including data scientists and engineering analysts. Like their counterparts in computer science and engineering, analytics engineers are trained to run complex computations on data sets to turn information into actionable insights. As a data scientist, you’ll mostly develop statistical models and predictive patterns and analyze existing data to see what it means. As an engineer, you’ll typically be tasked with developing algorithms to measure real-time trends and uncover new insights into the data. Depending on your expertise, you could be in charge of defining new parameters on datasets, designing simulations that reveal how future outcomes are affected by certain variables, or performing feature extraction and testing. Either way, it’s a demanding job and can be done in multiple locations.

7) Software Developer
As someone who loves coding, it comes as no surprise that software developers can enjoy an income stream from somewhere. The median salary for software developers is currently somewhere between $56,000 and $83,000, and it's increasing by 40 percent per year. On top of that, software developers can also enjoy benefits and perks such as health insurance, retirement plans, a 401k, paid vacation time, free lunch, and a family medical plan. It seems like a great fit for professionals looking for a cushy wage and flexibility, but also because a lot of people work part-time for freelance projects. Although flexible hours are available by project, it can be difficult to keep track of how much time and how closely one works with people depending on whether they work with large teams of people or operate as isolated individuals.
8) Virtual Assistance
This position is similar to the virtual assistant but for non-technical people. Instead of calling to schedule meetings or travel to a meeting, it entails completing certain tasks related to arranging meetings, scheduling vacations, and connecting a client with someone who can help the situation. While this can be a bit annoying, it’s still a great opportunity to gain knowledge. Since there are a bunch of jobs in human resources and finance, there may be a chance to network with professionals and learn from them. Especially since virtual assistants are fairly good at organizing meetings! It’s important to do your research to figure out if there’s anything that you can bring to the table when recruiting for a virtual assistant role. Not only that, but there are some cool perks to it too, including free meals, discounted spa treatments, dental, vision, etc., and even VIP treatment at the same hotel they were hired from! While that won't necessarily be a bad thing, it does give back to the community, so be prepared to make some sacrifices. Plus, a virtual assistant tends to have quite a low overhead compared to a human worker (which means you can save more money as you spend your days on administrative tasks).
9) Office Coordinator
As offices around the globe change, so do their demands. By offering a variety of services, office coordinators can take care of staffing, budgeting, cleaning, management, and general upkeep. It can be quite rewarding to watch as many people work from home, especially now that offices are no longer open to everyone. Plus, there’s never been a better time to join forces with coworkers and increase your skills! Working as both a co-worker and owner of a local company, I’m sure you already know what each person has to say about anything.
